Phoenix finally wins under coach Jarin

MANILA – Phoenix won for the first time with Jamike Jarin as head coach after pipping NorthPort, 108-97, in their PBA Governors' Cup game at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Thursday night.

The Fuel Masters outscored the Batang Pier, 63-47, in the second and third quarters before keeping them at bay in the fourth.

Jason Perkins and import Du'Vaughn Maxwell each scored 26 points with the latter also grabbing 11 rebounds for the double-double to lead Phoenix, which moved up to 1-3.

Marcus Weathers made 31 points, nine rebounds and two steals, while Kent Salado had a career-high 15 points with three rebounds and one steal for NorthPort, which remained winless 0-4. (PNA)
