ILOILO CITY – Megaworld Corporation is envisioned to transform the skyline of this city with the various developments it has introduced in its 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park (IBP) property in the Mandurriao district; the latest of which was its fourth residential property, Saint Honoré.
The design of the 10-story residential condominium building gained inspiration mainly from its namesake, the Rue Saint-Honoré, a street in Paris, France known for its upscale boutiques and museums, and from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington D.C. in the United States.
“We are transforming the way we do condominiums in the city; not just a single structure, not just a square or box structure but something that has a concept that will make the entire Iloilo landscape unique and visually appealing. That is the vision of every development that we put in here, to transform the skyline of the city where we are,” said Harold Geronimo, Megaworld vice president for public relations and media affairs, in a media interview on Wednesday.
Jennifer Alvaro, Senior Assistant Vice President for Megaworld Regional Ready for Occupancy, during an exclusive media tour for the project on Monday, said most of their clients are young professionals, newlyweds and overseas Filipino workers.
The project's 323 units are sold out with only 200 units left for turnover.
Its unique features are its landscaped atrium with trellised seating and spa facilities, which is a first among all residential projects in Iloilo.
Saint Honoré is the only residential property located within the 1.1- kilometer Festive Walk Parade, considered the longest dining strip in Visayas and Mindanao.
Geronimo said that they have a lot of European designs at the IBP because that is how they built their township.
“We want to bring something different, something that maybe foreign to the eyes but still beautiful. We want everyone experience what European architecture is because not everyone can travel to Europe,” he added.
Meantime, he said that in 5 to 10 years, the public will see a “transformed skyline of the IBP”.
Currently, the 72-hectare IBP is just around 60 percent developed.
“IBP is the modern city in Iloilo City because of the thriving and bustling business and trade environment that we have here,” Geronimo said.
The opening of the regional office of the Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas and major banks in the area is expected to further boost the IBP’s vision of becoming Iloilo City or the regional central business district of Western Visayas. (PNA)
