NLEX sets records in rout vs. Terrafirma

MANILA – NLEX needed a record-setting performance on Thursday night to take down Terrafirma and inch closer to a Top 4 finish in the PBA Governors' Cup eliminations.

The Road Warriors beat the Dyip, 142-125, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City behind 23 made three-pointers, which tied the all-time record for most threes in a game.

Nine of the triples came from Don Trollano, which set a franchise record, and he did so in consecutive fashion, setting a new PBA record for most straight threes made in a game.

Trollano finished with 44 points, also a new franchise record for a local even as he tied the league season-high for a local as well. He too had three rebounds and three assists.

Wayne Selden added 38 points on 13-of-20 shooting including 6-of-9 on threes, six rebounds, and eight rebounds, while Brandon Rosser chipped in 19 points on 7-of-10 field goals, 12 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal for NLEX, which moved up to 7-3 in the team standings.

Juami Tiongson put up 38 points, one rebound, five assists and five steals, while Jordan Williams added 29 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks for Terrafirma, which fell to the brink of elimination at 2-7. (PNA)
