MANILA – A lone bettor from Agusan del Sur became an instant millionaire after hitting the PHP12-million jackpot of the Mega Lotto 6/45 draw on Monday night.

Melquiades "Mel" Robles, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager and vice chairman of the board, said the lucky bettor correctly guessed the winning combination 26-43-11-18-05-45 of the Mega Lotto 6/45 with PHP12,171,239 jackpot prize.

The winning ticket was bought in Bayugan, Agusan del Sur.

Winners have one year from the date of the draw to claim the prize, as specified in Republic Act 1169, the law on PCSO lotteries.

All jackpot prizes must be claimed at the PCSO main office in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.

Winners must write their names and signature at the back of the winning tickets and present two government-issued identification cards or documents.

Lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 are subject to 20 percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.

Meanwhile, 19 others won PHP32,000 each for guessing five out of the six winning digits, while 1,204 will get PHP1,000 each for four correct digits, and 20,679 will settle for PHP30 each for three correct digits.

The 6/45 Mega Lotto is drawn every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The public is encouraged to keep on patronizing the products of PCSO as a large chunk of its revenues goes to charity programs. (PNA)
