Zambo cops nab 4, seize PHP1.1-M shabu in anti-drug ops

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police arrested four drug suspects were arrested and seized over PHP1.1 million worth of illegal drugs in separate anti-drug operations in this southern port city, a top police official said Thursday.

Col. Alexander Lorenzo, the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, said three of the four suspects were arrested by personnel of ZCPO’s Station 7 around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay Sta. Maria.

They were identified as Ibno Hassan Madisa, 53, and Mohammad Jammang Alih, 24, both of Tapul, Sulu; and Richard Aballe Salinas, 29 of Sitio Pasay, Barangay San Roque in this city.

Lorenzo said the three suspects were arrested after completing an illegal drug transaction with an undercover policeman. They yielded some 164.6 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of PHP1.1 million and a bundle of boodle money.

Meanwhile, another drug suspect, Al-Bashier Tali, 27, was arrested by operatives of ZCPO’s Station 6 in an operation around 2:55 p.m. Wednesday along Marquez Drive, Barangay Tetuan.

Tali, a security guard, yielded a gram of suspected shabu worth PHP6,800 and a coin purse, police said.

Lorenzo said charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects. (PNA)
