CEBU CITY – Authorities in Cebu Province have arrested three drug suspects and seized more than PHP16 million worth of suspected shabu in three separate operations conducted in two days.

The Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) conducted an anti-drug sting operation in Purok Orange, Barangay Lawaan, Talisay City on Thursday, that led to the arrest of 40-year-old Roque Damos, a resident of Barangay Guadalupe in this city.

Damos yielded 500 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP3.4 million, said PIU chief, Lt. Col. Mark Lester Eteroza.

In Cebu City, operatives arrested a 19-year-old suspect on Wednesday morning inside a cemetery in Barangay Lorega. Police seized from him 835 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP5.6 million.

At around 7:30 p.m. of the same day, a joint operation was launched at Sitio Seabreeze, Barangay Pusok in Lapu-Lapu City, and arrested Ramelo Aguitong, 41, a native of Dalaguete, Cebu.

The police seized from Aquitong more than a kilo of shabu with an estimated value of PHP7.1 million.

The suspects are facing criminal charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
