LEGAZPI CITY – The newly completed PHP50 million road project in Ocampo, Camarines Sur by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) early this month is seen to bolster the tourism industry in the town.
On Friday, Camarines Sur 3rd District Engr. Romeo D. Doloiras said the 2.1-kilometer road stretch will help promote Ocampo's eco-tourism destinations.
"The newly paved road that leads to the Ocampo Deer Ranch, Bamboo Farm and Strawberry Fields is of big help to the promotion of eco-tourism and bolstering agricultural development in the province," Doloiras said in a statement.
He said the project was funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2022.
Aside from making tourism travel easier, the completed project will also help for faster transport of agricultural products to neighboring towns of Ocampo, Doloiras added.
DPWH-5 (Bicol) Regional Director Virgilio C. Eduarte said the project is in line with the department's mandate to provide quality infrastructure facilities and services responsive to the needs of the people. (PNA)
