In a radio interview, Pasay City Police chief, Col. Froilan Uy, said the 25 inmates at the Malibay Sub Station 6 jail facility who did not escape were transferred to other jails in the city.

"Hinati-hati natin sila sa mga sub-stations na may matitibay na kulungan para yung ating Malibay station ay makapag-concentrate na
sa pagbabantay during Semana Santa, lalo na sa pag-alalay sa paglalakbay ng ating mga kababayan at yung mga mag-o-observe ng Semana Santa (We divided them among substations that have secure jails so that our Malibay station could concentrate on Holy Week security duties, especially in assisting travelers)," he added.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo, has ordered the relief of Malibay police sub-station 6 commander, Maj. Jerry Sunga, over the incident.

Capt. Ashley Rico Magboo has been designated as the substation’s officer in charge.

Okubo also directed Col. Ronald Laoyan, acting director of the NCRPO Regional Internal Affairs Service, to conduct an investigation into administrative lapses. (PNA)
