6.7K vacancies available in 2-day Bacolod job fair

BACOLOD CITY – At least 6,760 job openings are available during the two-day job fair at Robinsons Place Bacolod here starting Friday.

Participated by 55 companies, the employment event is organized by the city government through the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment.

“Inviting all job seekers to our job fair. There are 6,760 job vacancies awaiting to be filled up,” Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said.

A total of five international companies are looking for workers while 50 local companies are also hiring in Bacolod, among these are Robinsons Land, San Miguel Brewery Inc., BDO Unibank, Ace Hardware Phils. Inc., Tanduay Distillers Inc., Negros Grace Pharmacy, Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp., Riverside Medical Center Inc., Vallacar Transit Inc., and Scheirman Construction Consolidated Inc.

Call center firms such as Iqor Bacolod Talisay, Panasiatic Solutions and Transcom Worldwide Philippines Inc., also need personnel.

This is the second job fair organized by the city government this year after the first held in SM City Bacolod last month.

PESO manager Jovelyn Canoy encouraged job seekers to take advantage of the opportunity to get employed, adding that through the job fair, applicants can choose among the companies in one convenient location thus, saving on time, cost and effort.

“Helping Bacolodnons be employed is a mandate of Mayor Albee Benitez for the PESO. The job fair is just one of the many recurring recruitment events we have lined up,” she added. (PNA)
