LEGAZPI CITY – Some PHP1.6 million worth of illegal drugs were seized during police operations in Bicol Region on April 10 to 16.
Brig. Gen. Westrimundo Obinque, Police Regional Office-Bicol director, said Tuesday that 241.37 grams of shabu and 12 pieces of cultivated marijuana worth PHP1.640 million were confiscated during 17 operations.
"The highlight of these accomplishments was the arrest of father and son drug pushers, Jacob Canoy 28, and Manuel Canoy, 57, on April 13, 2023, at Purok 3, Barangay Bolod, San Pascual, Masbate, with PHP856,106.40 worth of shabu found in their possession," he said in a report.
In Tiwi, Albay, 25-year-old Jomar Dalmacio of Barangay Baybay was nabbed with 50 grams of shabu worth PHP340,000.
In Paracale, Camarines Norte, four suspects whose ages ranged from 27 to 52 were arrested in Purok 7, Barangay Bagumbayan with 20.8 grams of shabu worth PHP141,440.
In Naga City, operatives confiscated 12 pieces of marijuana plants and six pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu from suspect Angelito San Juan.
Additionally, over PHP300,000 worth of shabu was seized from other operations. (PNA)
