LEGAZPI CITY – A rape suspect tagged as the most wanted person in Calabarzon has been arrested in Albay province, the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) said on Friday.
Lt. Col Malu Calubaquib, PRO-5 spokesperson, said operatives of the Bicol police and Cavite Provincial Police Office collared Wilfredo Luna, 65, in Ligao City on Thursday.
"He was taken under police custody by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 18 in Tagaytay City, Cavite, dated June 6, 2013 with no bail recommended," Calubaquib said in a phone interview.
Luna, facing two counts of rape charges, was brought to Ligao City police station for booking procedure before his turnover to the court.
Calubaquib said the operation's success stemmed from the collective efforts of various police units in the region. (PNA)
