ILOILO CITY – An Italian-themed residential tower that will soon rise in this city will not only give Ilonggos a taste of luxurious living but likewise respond to its growing housing demand.

The new building will be inside the 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park (IBP) of Megaworld Corp. in this city’s Mandurriao District.

Megaworld Visayas first vice president for sales and marketing Jennifer Palmares-Fong, during the launch of the 22-story Firenze condominium on Thursday afternoon, said the demand for housing in Iloilo City is “very high.”

She said The Pinnacle, their 20-story condominium launched during the peak of the pandemic, is now more than 90 percent sold, with reservations from Ilonggos in Iloilo and overseas.

“Megaworld’s decision to bring in an Italian twin tower is driven by the demand of the Ilonggos for luxury and unique residential condominiums,” Palmares-Fong said.

She added that because Ilonggos are professionals and are busy people, they wanted to bring in something unique so that after a long day at work they can come home to a hotel-like abode.

Firenze will stand beside The Palladium at the northern portion of Megaworld Boulevard, just a short walk to and from Festive Walk Mall and Festive Walk Parade, as well as the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art.

“Italians are very passionate with what they do. That is why we decided to bring in the Italian twin tower here in Iloilo because of the passion and the artistry that Ilonggos have,” Palmares-Fong said.

The Firenze, a Florence-inspired project, has 415 units equipped with wireless smart home systems that residents can access and control via a smartphone application.

It will also have green and sustainability features, including low flow rate fixtures to promote water conservation, occupancy sensors in hallways to help conserve energy, a high energy efficiency rating for major equipment, a rainwater harvesting and reuse system, and a material recovery facility.

It is expected to be completed in 2028. (PNA)
