Capital of passion a cultural prerequisite for innovative society

SOFIA, Bulgaria – The capital of passion is a cultural prerequisite for creating an innovative society, noted German scientist, historian and musicologist Matthias Theodor Vogt.

Vogt, founder and director of the Institute for Cultural Infrastructures of Saxony, was a special guest at the Horizons 2023 gala hosted by Manager magazine in Sofia on Thursday.

Horizons 2023 is an annual visionary gala organized by Manager magazine, in which bright minds of our time meet with the highest level of business leaders in Bulgaria. The moderator of the event was director Viktor Bozhinov.

Matthias Vogt spoke specifically under the general theme of the event, "Culture and developed society: How supporting and investing in culture affects the development of business and society as a whole". Vogt touched upon the connections between culture and business.

Former Bulgarian president (2012 - 2017) Rossen Plevneliev noted that culture is also business. Those who invested in culture today are earning a lot. Culture also represents the reputation of the state. It is high time for culture to be a proper priority for this country, Plevneliev also pointed out.

Dilyana Slavova, economic adviser to President Rumen Radev presented a congratulatory address on behalf of the President, in which he noted his admiration for the initiative to debate the topic of culture and developed society, which today is characterized by a rapid pace of technological progress and innovative potential.

The moderator of the event, director Viktor Bozhinov, noted that the conversation about culture is important, because it gives wisdom, courage, memory, vision.

In his words, business and culture together can build another more balanced environment, stepping on realized needs, mutual interests and benefits.

The publisher of Manager magazine, Alexandra Mircheva, noted that once again they put culture in focus, giving it the deserved importance of the main driver of the civic development of modern society.

She added that as a media they continue to work for the support and integration of business in the creation of projects and events having transformational significance with their cultural content. (BTA)
