NLEX, NorthPort score separate 112-95 routs

MANILA – Ben Adamos sent a statement to his former team as he led NLEX to a 112-95 win against Phoenix in the PBA on Tour’s main game at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig Friday night.

Adamos fired 27 points on 10-for-17 field goals, including five three-pointers with 10 rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and one steal in 30 minutes of action for the Road Warriors, who went for a combined 69 points against the Fuel Masters' 38 in the second and third periods to pull away for good.

Sean Anthony added a triple-double with 22 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 assists, as well as two steals for NLEX.

Larry Muyang led Phoenix with 21 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, and two steals.

Meanwhile, Reden Celda and Tzaddy Rangel, the players traded for Adamos, struggled offensively.

Celda only tallied nine markers, although he added six boards, one dime, and four steals, while Rangel only got two points and three caroms.

In the first game, NorthPort pulled away early and sank Blackwater with a similar 112-95 scoreline.

The Batang Pier quickly got the upper hand to race to a 32-19 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.

While the Bossing slowed them down a bit in the second period, the Batang Pier caught fire anew in the second half and led by as much as 26 points before settling for the 17-point win.

Arvin Tolentino led NorthPort with 22 points, five rebounds, one assist, two steals, and two blocks.

Joshua Munzon added 19 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Blackwater was led by Troy Rosario who put up 17 points, six rebounds, and one assist. (PNA)
