MANILA – Eleven players of Gilas Pilipinas attended the second official practice day on Tuesday night ahead of the FIBA World Cup at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City.

Reigning Philippine Basketball Association Most Valuable Player Scottie Thompson finally joined the Gilas practice on Tuesday after calling in sick the previous night.

The 10 players who attended the first training session on Monday evening – brothers Thirdy and Kiefer Ravena, Ange Kouame, June Mar Fajardo, AJ Edu, CJ Perez, Japeth Aguilar, Rhenz Abando, Chris Newsome, and Poy Erram – were present for the second straight night.

However, with Edu and Erram still "not 100 percent" according to coach Chot Reyes, Gilas could not do 5-on-5 drills and once again settled for individual and small group drills.

Like the previous night, Gilas' Tuesday practice at the Meralco Gym lasted just an hour.

Gilas will continue training until Friday before holding a training camp at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba City, Laguna starting Saturday. (PNA)
