MANILA – A total of 64,420 examinees passed the Career Service Examination - Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) held nationwide on March 26, Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced Tuesday.
The passers represent 16.88 percent of the 381,735 examinees.
The Professional Level logged 54,478 passers out of the 331,928 total candidates or a passing rate of 16.42 percent; while 9,942 out of the 49,807 examinees or 19.97 percent passed the Subprofessional Level.
The National Capital Region posted the highest number of successful examinees with 16,682 passers for both levels. Regions 4 and 3 followed the ranking with 7,730 and 5,072 total passers, respectively.
The list of passers can be accessed on the CSC website at www.csc.gov.ph by clicking the examination results widget found on the left side, or examinees can go directly to the CSC Examination Portal at www.csc.gov.ph/exam-portal.
CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles congratulated the civil service exam passers, and at the same time offered words of encouragement to those who failed to make the grade.
“(To the passers) we are looking forward to working with you in the civil service, where your expertise and passion will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our nation,” he said in a statement.
“For those who did not make it this time, do not lose hope and remember that you can always try again. Determination, coupled with persistence, will surely help you in your journey to becoming civil servants,” he said.
The Professional Level passers shall be conferred the Career Service Professional Eligibility, which is a requirement for permanent appointment to first and second level positions in the government covering professional, technical, scientific and managerial positions and requires at least four years of college studies.
On the other hand, Subprofessional Level passers shall be conferred the Career Service Subprofessional Eligibility, which shall be appropriate for permanent appointment to first level positions such as clerical, trades, crafts and custodial service positions requiring less than four years of college studies.
These do not include positions requiring passing professional licensure examinations (Bar/board) or those requiring eligibilities covered by special laws and issuances.
The CSC, however, said eligibility is not the sole requirement for employment in government service.
Applicants must meet all the qualification standards of the position, consisting of education, training, experience and eligibility. (PNA)
