MANILA – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual is on a three-week trip in Europe to pitch the Philippines as an investment hub for European businesses.

During the Europe Investment Roadshow from June 18 to July 6, Pascual targets to bring in European investors in the Philippines, especially in manufacturing, research and development, higher value services, and renewable energy.

From June 18 to 21, the Philippine delegation will be in France. Aside from the investment forum, Pascual will also meet his French counterpart for the 10th Philippines-France Joint Economic Commission (JEC).

The DTI chief will be in United Kingdom (UK) from June 21 to 23, in Belgium on June 25 to 28, in the Netherlands on June 29 to July 1, and in Germany on July 3 to 5.

"As part of the Roadshow, Investment Fora in Belgium and Germany, as well as roundtable discussions with business communities in France, UK, Belgium and the Netherlands will be conducted to reinvigorate the interest of European investors and to apprise them of the current economic performance, advantages, and opportunities for investments in the Philippines," the DTI said in a statement Monday.

It said the investment roadshow is a follow-through of the visit of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in Brussels and the Netherlands in 2022.

"The Europe Investment Roadshow not only reflects the Philippines' dedication to attracting foreign direct investments but also serves as a dynamic platform for participants to foster strategic partnerships, engage in meaningful dialogue, and explore potential avenues for expanding their businesses," the DTI added.
