DOH launches Lab for All in Laguna

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday launched the "Libreng Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot Para sa Lahat" caravan in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

In a statement, DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said the caravan also known as “Lab for All” is a project of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

“It is a program in providing medical services to the provinces, at the same time a venue for promoting other DOH programs and services," he said.

The project aims to provide free consultation, free x-ray, laboratory services and medicines to the provinces, he added.

Previous “Lab for All” caravans were held every Tuesday in cities in Batangas, Tarlac, and Pampanga provinces, and in Baguio City.

The caravans are made possible by the DOH’s partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc., and Sagip Party-list.

The launch was attended by the First Lady, Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Sagip Party-list Rep. Caroline Tanchay, Laguna 2nd District Rep. Ruth Hernandez, Governor Ramil Hernandez, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Director Subarto Mangudadatu, Food and Drug Administration Director General Samuel Zacate, DOH-Center for Health Development Region-Calabarzon) Director Ariel Valencia, PhilHealth officials, and other local health partners.
