ZAMBOANGA CITY – The city government here has released about PHP2.9 million in financial aid to 994 indigent persons with disabilities (PWDs), a local official said Thursday.

Ma. Socorro Rojas, City Social Welfare and Development Office chief, said the recipients of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) comprised 431 PWDs who received their financial aid on Tuesday and 563 who got their aid on Wednesday.

Each of them received PHP3,000, according to Rojas.

Mayor John Dalipe, together with Vice Mayor Josephine Pareja, led the distribution of financial aid.
