BRUSSELS – A salmonella case was found again this year in the factory of the Italian chocolate producer Ferrero group in Belgium.

In a statement, the Federal Food Chain Safety Agency (AFSCA) announced Thursday that a case of salmonella was detected at the Ferrero factory in the city of Arlon.

The bacterium found in the factory could have come from any object and was not found in food products, according to the statement.

Last year, bacteria were found in Kinder-branded products at the same factory, and the factory was sealed for a while.

According to the World Health Organization, there are 151 salmonella infections in the world associated with chocolate products. (Anadolu)
