MANILA – The weather bureau is monitoring cloud clusters that could possibly develop into a low pressure area (LPA) within the day, the weather bureau said Tuesday.

"We are still waiting for data so we could determine the LPA's exact location. We are expecting that it will move towards the country and may cause cloudy skies, particularly over the eastern portion of Luzon and the Visayas in the next few days," Obet Badrina of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) continues to affect Palawan, the Visayas and Mindanao and will cause isolated rains over these areas, he added.

Luzon will have fair weather.

"Isolated rains and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon or evening," Badrina said.

Severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides, according to PAGASA.

The whole country will continue to experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
