MANILA – The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Friday held a pilot virtual overseas jobs fair, which aims to bring employment opportunities closer to employment seekers and help eliminate illegal recruitment.

In a Facebook post, the DMW said Secretary Susan Ople directed the institutionalization of an Online Jobs Fair for Overseas Employment, which will be held every second and last Friday of the month starting July 21.

It will be facilitated by the DMW Pre-Employment and Government Placement Bureau.

Five land-based recruitment agencies and one manning agency participated in the pilot testing.

A total of 1,579 approved job orders were offered in medical and health care, hotel and restaurant, construction, and managerial.

To apply for an overseas job online, access official website, www.dmw.gov.ph, and then click on Online Services, e-Registration, and Let's go icons.

After logging in, go to the JOBFAIR icon and search for the DMW First online JobFair July 14, 2023.  The process for the online application will then start.

DMW said the online overseas jobs fair is faster, more efficient, and spares applicants from traveling and long queues. (PNA)
