COTABATO CITY – Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa pledged his all-out support for all health programs of the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) over the weekend.

In a statement Monday, CRMC chief, Dr. Ishmael R. Dimaren, said the programs primarily cater to the poor residents of the region.

“The mission aims to provide quality health care to patients who need surgical operations, mobility devices, prostheses, medical and OB-Gyne consultation, optical care, hearing health care, and other medical services,” he said.

During a visit to the CRMC here Saturday, Herbosa assured that the Department of Health (DOH) would "aid all health programs in the region, especially in areas that are hardly reached by health providers.”

The health secretary was at the CRMC as special guest to the facility’s conduct of a multi-specialty mission in partnership with the Physicians for Peace Philippines (PFPP) and Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council, Inc.

Dimaren assured that the CRMC would join the PFPP for its mission to teach and train health care professionals to provide sustainable health care services to underserved communities across the country.

Strategically located in this city, the CRMC serves BARMM constituents from Lanao Sur, Maguindanao Sur, and Maguindanao del Norte, including North Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat in the Soccsksargen region. (PNA)
