LAOAG CITY – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) turned over a total of PHP481,926.45

to 14 local government units (LGUs) and the provincial government of Ilocos Norte here late Friday afternoon as part of their share of lotto revenues.

In a formal turnover ceremony held at the Plaza del Norte and Convention Center in this city, Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Joseph Manotoc, along with 13 local chief executives and city and municipal treasurers, received their respective LGUs’ shares from lotto sales.

The amount represents each LGU’s lotto sales from January to June this year.

Manotoc thanked the PCSO led by general manager Mel Robles, saying the money would be used for the local government’s charity programs.

“We thank you for always helping us in all our initiatives and we reaffirm that we are just here to support PCSO in whatever you need,” he said.

The grant of lotto shares is under Executive Order 357-A, which allocates 5 percent of the PCSO Charity Fund to local government units in cities/municipalities and 2 percent to provinces where Lotto tickets are sold.

The governor likewise offered to host the PCSO board’s team-building activity next time to showcase the province’s key tourism destinations. (PNA)
