MANILA – Authorities arrested a 29-year-old man allegedly involved in the online selling of an abortion drug in Manila on Monday afternoon, the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) said Tuesday.

In a statement, the ACG said the suspect Enrique Jose Bulda Jr. was arrested near a mall in Binondo district around 1:30 p.m. in an operation launched after ACG operatives chanced upon an advertisement posted on Facebook Marketplace selling Cytotec, a medication used to prevent and treat stomach and duodenal ulcers but can induce labor and abortion.

An ACG agent posing as a buyer left a comment on the advertisement and later transacted with a certain "Doc Cherry White", who offered the pill for PHP3,500.

Bulda, now detained at the Manila Police District, is facing violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2021. (PNA)
