MANILA – College of Saint Benilde (CSB) displayed its awesome form to claim the women's title over Far Eastern University, 25-18, 25-19, 25-18, in the 2023 V-League Collegiate Challenge on Friday.

Zamantha Nolasco finished with seven attacks and five blocks as the Lady Blazers swept the best-of-three final series at the Paco Arena in Manila.

Jhasmine Gayle Pascual chipped in only seven points but she earned the Finals MVP honor for her splendid performances throughout the series.

Also noteworthy were the efforts of Fiona Naomi Getigan, who had 14 digs and seven receptions, and Cloannie Mondonedo, who made 15 excellent sets.

"We came here prepared and we're glad to win the championship," said CSB assistant coach JP Martires after the match that lasted for an hour and 27 minutes.

"As they say, experience is the best teacher. We learned a lot from this competition, we know what we can do and what to correct," he added.

Pascual said the mindset is to win the title.

"Since, we're already in the final and we won Game 1, a little more work and we'll get the title. This is an achievement for us," she said.

Mitzi Panangin led the Lady Tamaraws with 11 points, five on blocks, while Chenie Tagaod had nine points, including eight attacks.

Meanwhile, Mary Rhose Dapol of University of Perpetual Help System-Dalta was named conference MVP in the league organized by Sports Vision and sponsored by Bola.TV, Beyond Active Wear and Mikasa.
