SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC or PhilHealth) has paid PHP3.3 million to providers of the Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) in Antique since its implementation in the province in January this year.

Junie Sabusap, head of the PHIC Antique head, said in an interview Monday that 32,508 of the 225,438  registered members with the Konsulta program have their first patient encounter or have sought consultation for the first time with the accredited facilities.

“In Antique, the PHIC-accredited Konsulta facilities are the 17 Rural Health Units (RHUs) and nine government hospitals,” Sabusap said.

He said the accredited health facilities are managed by primary care physicians and provide needed services such as consultation and case management.

He also said that out-patients can avail of 13 laboratory tests such as urinalysis, fecalysis, and chest X-rays, among others, as well as their needed medicines.

“We assure the Konsulta members that they can always avail of the benefits,” Sabusap said.

Sabusap urged other members not yet registered with the Konsulta to get enlisted or go to an accredited facility to avail of benefits.

In a separate interview, PHIC Antique information officer Liza Joyce Songcayawon said PHIC members can download the membership data form (MDR) from the corporate website or member portal to avail of the benefit.

Both went online on Sept. 29 after they were shut down following the detection of a ransomware infection on Sept. 22.

“A PHIC member can now download his needed MDR at the member portal,” she said.  (PNA)
