MANILA – University of Perpetual Help System DALTA clobbered Arellano University, 85-66, in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 99 basketball competition at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan on Tuesday.

Marcus Nitura fired three triples to finish with 19 points to carry the Altas to their second victory in four outings. He also had nine rebounds and five assists.

Christian Pagaran contributed 17 points on top of seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block for UPHSD, which took a 47-34 lead at halftime.

Art Roque made 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal, while Mark Omega added 12 points, 12 rebounds and two assists.

Only Jade Talampas managed to get a double-digit output for the Chiefs, who remained winless after four games.

Talampas, who produced 23 points highlighted by four triples, had six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

Jeadan Ongotan, Ernest Geronimo and Lars Sunga scored nine points each, with Ongotan hauling down five rebounds to go with three steals and two assists.

Perpetual sustained its momentum in the third quarter, limiting Arellano to only nine points.

Lyceum of the Philippine University is on top of the standings at 3-0 followed by Emilio Aguinaldo College (2-0).

Jose Rizal University, San Beda University and Mapua University are tied for third at 2-1, San Sebastian College and College of Saint Benilde have identical 1-2 slates while Letran is winless in three starts. (PNA)
