SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has reached out to remote barangays of Antique to enlist those who have not registered for their national identification cards.

PSA Antique provincial head Randy Tacogdoy said five Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) on Wheels are deployed to various barangays starting Tuesday, targeting 9,376 registrants until Dec. 31 this year.

“We target to have at least 25 individuals registered for a day by each of the PhilSys on Wheels,” he said.

As of Aug. 31 this year, 477,020 or 87.37 percent of five years old and above population in Antique have registered with PhilSys.

Further, 140,707 individuals were issued a printable digital copy of their Philippine Identification (ePhilID), and 306,451 received their physical PhilID cards.

Tacogdoy said among their priorities are the poorest of the poor in far-flung barangays who have no money for transport costs to go to the PSA office.

The PSA simplified the requirement with only their birth and barangay certificates attesting that they are residents of the barangay where they presently reside.

PSA Antique, in celebration of National Statistics Month this October, also opened an exhibit at the old Antique capitol on Oct. 2 showcasing various important statistical data of different government agencies. (PNA)
