MANILA – The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Friday reported a 100-percent response rate on public concerns raised through different assistance portals from July 2022 to September 2023.

Based on the report by the DBM’s Media Affairs and Community Relations Office, the agency resolved 327 concerns received from July to December 2022.

From January to September this year, the DBM received 1,256 concerns, which were all resolved with an average response rate of three days.

“The Freedom of Information portal received the highest number of requests for assistance, with 394 requests for information from July 2022 to September 2023, ranging from requests for information on compensation and benefits, Memo Circulars, Budget Manual, and specific information on Local Government Units' budget,” the DBM said in a statement.

The department said public concerns were also raised through other public assistance portals such as the Civil Service Commission-Contact Center ng Bayan, Malacañang 8888, Presidential Action Center and DBM Civil Society Desk.

Secretary Amenah Pangandaman lauded the DBM staff assigned to various bureaus, services, and offices for their immediate response to public concerns and urged them to continue the good work.

“We owe it to the public. We owe it to our countrymen. That is why they should get the kind of public service they deserve -- fast, efficient, and worth every peso of taxpayers’ money,” Pangandaman said in a statement.

She added that the Marcos administration is committed to ensuring public participation and inclusivity through its various efforts, including the setting up of feedback mechanisms such as the Civil Society Desk and the launching of the "OGPinas!" campaign to reinforce public trust and confidence in the government.

She said government agencies are working closely to promote the open government initiatives.

"Our mission here for OGPinas is to encourage and instill a culture of transparency, accountability, public participation, and overall, open government in the country," Pangandaman said.

“Let us be empowered by our vision for an open government and let us empower others through this platform to make the changes we all desire for the betterment of our country -- even beyond our Agenda for Prosperity,” she added. (PNA)
