MANILA – The Philippines currently has the most number of registered participants for the "One Million Children Praying the Rosary" worldwide event set on Oct. 18.

In a social media post on Monday, the Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) said some 89,327 Filipino children have registered for the event as of Oct. 15.

The other nations also with high number of registered participants are United Kingdom (45,382), United States (32,450), and Australia (11,916).

It added that there are already 479,161 children globally who committed to join the event set at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

But, the ACN noted that number is lower than the 871,523 children that participated in the 2022 edition.

At the same time, the group urged the public to join the event.

"Invite your classmates, friends, and family to pray the rosary on October 18, 9 a.m. Let us be part of this prayer initiative,"it said.

The faithful may register online through the website millonchildrenpraying.org.

In 2005, the Church event was launched in Venezuela, seeks to rekindle faith in the power of prayer by calling on everyone to form one family across borders that are united in prayer. (PNA)
