CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) on Thursday cited outstanding micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Region 3 (Central Luzon) that were assisted under its Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).

SETUP, one of the flagship programs of the DOST, was designed to encourage and assist MSMEs in adopting technological innovations to improve their products and operations.

In the awarding ceremonies during the Regional Science and Technology Week (NSTW) celebration in Botolan, Zambales, the DOST-3 conferred the SETUP PRAISE Award to MSMEs that exhibited impressive productivity, resilience, agility, innovation, sustainability and excellence.

Hailed as the regional winner of the Best SETUP Adoptor Award is the Bauertek Corporation, which is engaged in the manufacturing of food supplements and has a research, development and manufacturing facility in Guiguinto, Bulacan.

DOST Regional Director Julius Caesar Sicat said Bauertek Corporation’s journey to success is characterized not only by reaching new heights but also by transcending limitations.

“Bauertek Corporation has masterfully achieved this by thoroughly embracing DOST’s technology interventions and technical assistance. Their unwavering commitment has not only manifested improvements in their productivity but also became the cornerstone of their remarkable advancements in resilience, agility, innovativeness, sustainability and excellence,” Sicat said in a livestreamed event.

The Bauertek Corporation is also one of this year’s provincial best SETUP PRAISE awardees.
