Always strive for excellence, Acorda tells outstanding Ilocos cops

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, La Union – The Police Regional Office in Ilocos (PRO-1) achieved a 98 percent crime clearance sufficiency and 72 percent crime solution efficiency in 2022.
 
At the awarding of outstanding personnel and units of PRO-1, part of the 122nd Police Service anniversary celebration, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. enjoined them to continue performing their duties with integrity and further strive for excellence. 
 
“I commend you for your relentless efforts in defying criminality, illegal drugs, and insurgency. Your dedication in protecting the people of Northern Luzon is truly commendable. You are the frontline defender and your actions make our communities safer,” Acorda said in his speech during the awarding ceremony at Thunderbird Poro Point here Friday.
 
“We must stand united with our communities to achieve peaceful and prosperous nation. Together we can make a difference.” 
 
Acorda also led the inauguration and groundbreaking of PNP facilities in the region as well as the turnover of additional service vehicles.
 
The awardees  are Col. Redentor Ulsano, Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) for Administration; Col. Charlie Umayam,Best Senior PCO for Operations; Lt. Col. Randy Baoit, Best Junior Police Commissioned Office (PCO) for Administration; Lt. Col. Andrew Rabang, Best Junior PCO for Operations; Senior Master Sgt. Jesse Tayab, Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO) for Administration; Senior Master Sgt. Maria Caridad DJ Godoy, Best Senior PNCO for Operations; Staff Sgt. Marvin Juy Manzano, Best Junior PNCO for Administration; Staff Sgt. Arnold Galao, Best Junior PNCO for Operations; and Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP) Susan Alminiana for Best NUP.
 
Also, Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office, Best Police Provincial Office Station; San Fernando City Police Station, Best Component City Police Station; Bauang Municipal Police Station, Best Municipal Police Station; Ilocos Norte 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Best PMFC; Regional Finance Service Office 1, Best Regional Administrative Support Unit; and Regional Forensic Unit, Best Regional Operational Support Unit. 
 
PRO-1 Director Brig. Gen. John Chua said they “are actively building bridges of trust understanding and cooperation with all other government and non-government agencies especially the people.” (PNA)
