MANILA – The domestic helper position is on top of the list of five in-demand job vacancies nationwide, with close to 6,000 available positions, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported on Tuesday.
In a statement, DOLE's Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) said 16,421 vacancies were available nationwide for the period Oct. 16 to 20.
Of the 5,761 domestic worker vacancies, majority were in Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur (1,023); Tagum City, Davao del Norte (1,009) and Ormoc City, Leyte (1,000).
The call center agent position had 4,886 vacancies, with majority posted on the government job portal PhilJobnet (2,393).
Meanwhile, the other positions were for executive assistant with 2,376 and customer service assistant with 1,798 vacancies. Majority of jobs available were in Panabo City, Davao del Norte at 1,300.
Completing the top five list was production worker with 1,600 vacancies, according to data from the PESO Employment Information System and job-matching portal PhilJobNet.
The BLE advised interested applicants to contact the Public Employment Service Offices in their areas.
