LEGAZPI CITY – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Albay reported on Tuesday the completion of election paraphernalia delivery in 18 local government units (LGUs) for the Oct. 30 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

In an interview, Comelec-Albay election supervisor Ma. Aurea Bo-Bunao said all official ballots, election returns, canvassing forms and indelible stain ink bottles allocated for the province have been distributed to all municipal treasurers of the 15 towns and three cities.

“All accountable forms are generally distributed to the polling precincts the day of the election, except for early delivery requests that will be distributed a day before the election or on Oct. 29,” Bo-Bunao said.

She noted that they allow delivery before election day to far-flung areas or in places where there is no regular transportation, which may cause delays in starting the voting process.

Over 2,000 uniformed personnel will ensure the safety and security of Albayanos during the elections -- 1,526 from the Philippine National Police, 508 from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and 27 from the Philippine Coast Guard.

Albay has almost 1.3 million registered voters from 720 barangays. (PNA)
