MANILA – The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the country’s largest business organization, submitted to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday the resolution it passed during the 49th Philippine Business Conference (PBC).

In the 49-page resolution, the PCCI included its economic wish list to the administration and also offered action plans for each sector.

Ten sectors were listed in the 49th PBC Resolution – agriculture; energy and power; environment and climate change; education and human resources development; industry and trade; ease of doing business and stability of rules and regulations; infrastructure, transport, and logistics; innovation and digitalization; taxation; and tourism.

Aside from putting the priority sectors, the PCCI also crafted proposals to concerned government offices and agencies, as well as specific action points from its members in Metro Manila, North and South Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

The resolution, an offshoot of the PCCI’s annual business conference, contains the group’s solutions to current economic issues. It is handed over to the Chief Executive.

Chairman of the 49th PBC, Felino Palafox, said the action plan would serve as a guide for the Philippines to turn its vision of becoming a first-world country by 2050 into reality.

“Each and (every) one of us has an integral role in transforming the Philippines into a first-world country. Let us all be visionaries, working toward a common goal to drive our country to global excellence,” Palafox said. (PNA)
