CEBU CITY – Police have seized suspected shabu with an estimated street value of almost PHP7 million during separate anti-drug operations in this capital city.

Two suspected drug personalities – a woman identified as Rea de Jesus Caytor, alias “Yang,” and Ronald Pardillo Bacus, alias “Onix,” – were arrested, Lt. Col. Jomar dela Cerna, chief of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 7 (Central Visayas), said on Friday.

After subjecting her to a surveillance operation after a tip-off, the police arrested Caytor in Barangay Bacayan in this city on Thursday night.
She yielded suspected shabu valued at PHP1.7 million.

Bacus, on the other hand, was arrested in Rainbow Village, Barangay Kinasang-an here on Tuesday night, resulting in the seizure of PHP5.1 million worth of suspected shabu.

Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, chief of the Police Regional Office 7, commended the police for their relentless effort to run after drug personalities even during the campaign period for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.

"With our competent and motivated police force aided with innovative technology in law enforcement and support of the community, tangible results are seen such as significant seizures and arrest of big-time drug dealers, thus keeping Central Visayas safe and peaceful to everyone,” Aberin said.
