LEGAZPI CITY – The provincial government of Catanduanes has ordered the suspension of classes and work in all government offices on Tuesday (Oct. 31) and Friday (Nov. 3).

Under Memorandum No. 280 issued on Monday, Governor Joseph Cua said the suspension for Oct. 31 is for the observance of All Saints' and All Souls' Day while the Nov. 3 suspension is to provide workers and students with a mental health break.

"The suspension is in line with State policy and commitment to promote the well-being of the people by ensuring that their mental health be valued and protected," Cua said in the memorandum.

Government agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services will continue with their operations and render the necessary services, he added.

The suspension of work in private companies and of classes in private schools is left to the discretion of their respective heads. (PNA)
