KORONADAL CITY – Police authorities in the Soccsksargen region arrested four alleged illegal drug high-value targets and seized PHP1.7 million worth of “shabu” in operations on Tuesday afternoon, an official said.
“The anti-drug operations were conducted in the cities of Koronadal and Kidapawan of South Cotabato and North Cotabato provinces, respectively,” Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, Soccsksargen (PRO-12) director, said in a statement Wednesday.
In General Santos City, shabu, weighing 210 grams with a street value of PHP1.4 million, was confiscated from three suspected drug peddlers during an entrapment in Barangay Bula.
Local police and the provincial drug enforcers launched a buy-bust against the suspects, he said.
In Kidapawan City, police also arrested an alleged drug peddler during a drug sting operation on Tuesday in Barangay Balindog, leading to the confiscation of PHP306,000 worth of shabu.
The suspect, identified only as "Padsek" of Datu Paglas town, Maguindanao del Sur, yielded 45 grams of shabu.
“This accomplishment represents a resolute commitment to eradicating the scourge of illegal drugs and fostering a healthier and more secure society,” Macaraeg said. (PNA)
