MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – An official of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has encouraged consumers to take advantage of the Diskwento caravan for Noche Buena products in different malls in Pangasinan starting Thursday.

In an interview on Wednesday, DTI Pangasinan provincial director Natalia Dalaten said they can avail of discounts of at least 10 percent during the caravan which will be participated in by Magic Group of Companies and CSI stores, among others.

“Tips (para) sa mga mamimili, kung pupwede ay bumili na sila ng paisa-isa hanggang makumpleto ang mga ihahanda sa Pasko hanggang Bagong Taon kasi pag papalapit na (ang mga nasabing panahon ay) padami ng padami (ang mga) bumibili at maaring hindi na mapapansin (ang) expiration date. At the same time, ang presyo ay baka tumaas (Tips to the consumers: purchase little by little until you have completed all the food you will prepare for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day celebrations because you might overlook the expiration dates once a lot of consumers flock to the groceries. At the same time, prices might increase),” she said.

Dalaten said the current suggested retail prices for Noche Buena products prevail since no new prices have been announced for these items.

Meanwhile, Dalaten warns the public to be wary on the quality of Christmas decors, especially Christmas lights, that they are buying.

She said consumers should always check for the authenticity of the products by looking for the Philippine Standard (PS) Quality and/or Safety Mark and the Import Commodity Clearance stickers to avoid fire-related incidents. (PNA)
