CITY OF MALOLOS, , Bulacan - Nearly PHP1 million worth of marijuana were seized in separate anti-drug operations in this province on Friday.
In his report, Colonel Relly Arnedo, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, said the successful operations that were launched in this city and in Balagtas town resulted in the arrest of two suspected drug peddlers.
Arnedo said some six kilograms of dried marijuana worth PHP720,000, along with the marked money and a motorcycle were confiscated from alias Glenn following a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pinagbakahan, this city around 12:25 a.m.
He said the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Balagtas police launcheda drug buy-bust in Barangay Santol around 1:45 a.m. that resulted in the arrest of alias Reyvin, 25, a resident of Barangay Pinagkuartelan, Pandi, also in this province.
"The confiscated evidence were 2.03 kilograms of dried marijuana with a standard drug price of some PHP243,600 and the marked money," Arnedo said.
The suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. (PNA)
