Males outnumber females in 2022 Caraga birth, death data

BUTUAN CITY – A total of 39,276 live births were recorded in Caraga Region in 2022, according to data provided by the regional office of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA-13) on Tuesday.

Of the total live births, 52.19 percent were males and 47.81 percent were females, the PSA-13 data indicated.

“There were 109 males for every 100 females born in the region in 2022,” the agency said.

In the same data, the PSA-13 said that 12,597 marriages were also logged in the region last year, most of which were recorded in Agusan del Sur (3,304).

At least 18,764 deaths were also recorded in the region in 2022, with 56.53 percent accounting for male deaths and 43.47 percent for females.

The region documented 103 male deaths for every 100 female deaths last year, the agency said. (PNA)
