CEBU CITY – About 3,000 vacancies will be offered to individuals in Central Visayas as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will host three job fairs in December, a labor official said on Thursday.

Lilia Estillore, regional director of DOLE-7, said the job fairs in Cebu and Bohol are part of the labor agency’s 90th founding anniversary celebration from Dec. 1 to 8.

In Bohol, a total of 971 positions are up for grabs at a job fair to be held at Barangay Taloto in Tagbilaran City on Dec. 2.

For those in the northern part of Cebu province, the second leg of the jobs fair will be held on Dec. 6 at the Motorpool, Poblacion in Madridejos town on Bantayan Island, where 925 job positions are available.

Estillore said the third leg will be held on Dec. 8 at the lower level of the Cube Wing of SM Seaside City Cebu.

As of Thursday, a total of 708 vacancies were posted by the 30 employers from Cebu who will be participating in the SM Seaside job fair.

“We urge everyone to follow our FB page, DOLE Central Visayas, for job fair updates. Presently, we are working closely with the respective PESO (Provincial Employment Service) Offices to make sure that everything will be in place on the day of the said job fairs,” Estillore told the Philippine News Agency.

She said once all data are finalized, the agency would release the list of jobs that the participating employers would need, including the updated total number of vacancies.

“We advise jobseekers to bring copies of basic pre-employment requirements, such as their resume or curriculum vitae (in multiple copies); certificate of employment for those formerly employed; diploma; transcript of records; and photocopy of training certificates,” she added. (PNA)
