2 drug traders yield P1.36-M shabu in Bulacan

CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan – An estimated PHP1.36 million worth of suspected shabu was seized while a high-value individual (HVI) and his cohort were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Lalakhan, Sta. Maria town, this province on Tuesday morning.

Lt. Col. Jacquiline Puapo, officer in charge of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, said in an interview that a joint team from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Sta. Maria police conducted the operation at about 1 a.m.

Nabbed were alias "Buddy" a 40-year-old electrician from Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, who is identified as an HVI, and alias "Acma", 41, and resident of Barangay Gumaoc, City of San Jose Del Monte.

"The operation yielded the seizure of around 200 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately PHP1,360,000 with marked money," Puapo said.

The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU) for appropriate examination, while criminal complaints for violations of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, are being prepared for filing in court against the suspects.

“These efforts underscore the unwavering dedication of the Bulacan PNP (Philippine National Police) in upholding public safety and combating criminal activities within the province,” Puapo said. (PNA)
