MANILA – Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. on Friday led the wreath-laying ceremony honoring fallen soldiers at the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The activity is part of the AFP's 88th anniversary which will culminate on Dec. 21, military public affairs office chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad said in a statement.

"(It is) aimed at commemorating military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty," he added.

The wreath-laying was held simultaneously in different camps nationwide.

“Today’s wreath-laying ceremony is not just a symbolic gesture. It is a solemn pledge to remember and honor those who have laid down their lives for the cost of freedom. May our nation continue to flourish under the watchful eyes of those who stand ready to protect it,” Brawner said. (PNA)
