MANILA – Dividends collected from government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) amounted to over PHP90 billion this year, data from the Department of Finance (DOF) showed.
In its yearend report, the DOF said the national government has so far collected PHP99.2 billion from 49 remitting GOCCs.
The amount exceeded both its dividend collections target for the year and actual collections in 2022, it said.
"This stellar performance is testament to the administration's prudent and efficient management of its corporate public sector," the DOF said.
"Our government-owned and controlled corporations remain critical in the delivery and provision of public goods and critical social services and in funding the needs of the national government's development programs," it added. (PNA)
