TEHRAN – Eight US soldiers deployed at a US base in Jordan were evacuated to US medical centers in other countries after they were diagnosed of traumatic brain injuries, American TV network CNN reported.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) also confirmed that eight service members were medically evacuated from Jordan after being wounded in early Sunday’s drone attack on the US outpost.

Quoting a US official who talked on condition of anonymity, the CNN report said military personnel stationed at the Tower 22 base in Jordan, near the Syrian border, are not in appropriate condition.

Washington announced on Sunday that three US Army troops were killed and more than 30 service members were injured in a drone attack overnight, marking the first time US troops have been killed in the West Asia region since the onset of the Gaza war. (IRNA)
