37 Caraga LGUs, 4 provinces pass good financial housekeeping in 2023

BUTUAN CITY – Thirty-seven local government units (LGUs) consisting of four cities and 33 municipalities and four provinces passed the 2023 Good Financial Housekeeping, as reported by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The four provinces are Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur, while the four cities are Butuan, Surigao, Cabadbaran, and Tandag.

In a statement Wednesday, the Surigao City government welcomed its inclusion in last year’s list.

“The recognition is a testament that the city government of Surigao is utilizing its funds following laws and regulations, accounting, and auditing,” the LGU said.

In Agusan del Norte, eight towns included in the list of passers are Buenavista, Carmen, Jabonga, Kitcharao, Las Nieves, Nasipit, Santiago, and Tubay, while another eight from Agusan del Sur included La Paz, Loreto, Rosario, San Francisco, Talacogon, Trento, Veruela, and Sibagat.

In Surigao del Norte, the eight passers are Del Carmen, Mainit, Pilar, Santa Monica, Sison, Tagana-an, Tubod, and Claver.

On the other hand, eight towns in Surigao del Sur were also named passers Cagwait, Cantilan, Carmen, Carrascal, Cortes, Hinatuan, Lianga, and San Agustin.

The municipality of Cagdianao in the province of Dinagat Islands also made it to last year’s list of passers. (PNA)
