CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – Authorities finally caught up with an alleged rapist who was the Most Wanted Person in the Calabarzon Region.
The Laguna Police Provincial Office (LPPO) said suspect “Oscar” was arrested Monday from his hiding place in San Lucas Village, Lipa City, Batangas.
Col. Gauvin Mel Unos, acting LPPO director, told reporters on Tuesday that the suspect is accused of two counts of rape and three counts of acts of lasciviousness.
He said the successful manhunt was carried out by operatives of the Biñan Component City Police Station, led by Lt. Col. Jonathan Robert Rongavilla.
The team was armed with a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Teodoro Nablo Solis, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 25 in Biñan City.
The suspect is now detained at the city jail in Biñan.
“It is the desire of your police force to give justice to victims of criminality… we will untiringly provide protection to the people we serve as it is our sworn duty,” Unos said in Filipino. (PNA)
