CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS – A 53-year-old man was arrested in Pulilan, Bulacan Friday afternoon for illegal possession of several firearms and ammunition.

The suspect, a resident of Calderon Compound, Esguerra Street, Barangay Poblacion in Pulilan, yielded one caliber 9mm pistol, a caliber .22 rifle Piranha, a caliber .30 rifle carbine, an air gun rifle with a compressed oxygen tank, a magnum .22 revolver, and hundreds of ammunitions for various firearms.

In a statement Saturday, Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, said their personnel conducted an operation at the suspect’s residence based on a search warrant.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit while charges of illegal possession of firearms are being readied against him.

"The confiscation of these illegal firearms underscores the commitment to uphold peace and order, emphasizing the PNP's (Philippine National Police’s) dedication to eliminating loose firearms in the province of Bulacan," Arnedo said. (PNA)
